Salmo.

Salmo is a genus of fish from the family Salmonidae. The name of this genus is derived from the latin word salmō, meaning salmon. although only Salmo Salar is a true salmon within this genus. All Salmo species except Salmo Salar are from the old world (Europe, North Africa and West Asia).
According to fishbase there are 46 species within this genus of which 26 native to Europe although these numbers are up to debate.
