Thymallus, or graylings as they are commonly known is a genus of freshwater fish. fish belonging to this genus are recognised by their large dorsal fins. the European grayling was long seen as the only one native to Europe. But in 2019 the Loire grayling was described as a separate species. according to fishbase there are 15 species within this genus although this is up to debate. Research from 2020 suggests that Adriatic grayling can be given the name Thymallus Aeliani therefor I have added it as 16e species.
