Ribiška Družina Idrija.

Founded in 1976, Ribiška Družina Idrija has been managing the fishing waters of the Idrijca River system for decades. The club focuses on conserving native Marble Trout populations, while also maintaining sustainable angling opportunities with Grayling, Rainbow Trout, and remnant Brown Trout and hybrids. RD Idrija is known for its demanding waters, attracting anglers who enjoy technical, wild river fly-fishing.

Regulations.

• Fly fishing only across all managed waters.
• Barbless hooks only; only one artificial fly may be used.
• Fishing with an indicator is forbidden, making the waters especially challenging and best suited for experienced anglers.
• Certain stretches are designated Catch & Release only.
• Spawning areas and seasonal closures must be respected.
• From bridge Mokraška vas till main bridge in Sp. Idrija is dry-fly only.
  

Fishing Season.

• 1 April – 31 October (trophy, district A and, catch and release.)
  
• 1 April – 30 November (district B)

Waters Managed by RD Idrija.

RD Idrija manages three rivers in the Idrija region, covering a mix of accessible and remote stretches with diverse habitats.

• Idrijca – The main river, flowing through forested valleys and the historic town of Idrija. Known for Marble Trout, Grayling, Rainbow Trout, and remaining Brown Trout and hybrids. It features deep pools, fast runs, and calm stretches, offering a challenging but rewarding fishery.
• Cerknica – A cold, clear tributary of the Idrijca, home mainly to Marble Trout and hybrids. With limited access and technical fishing, this small river is best suited for experienced anglers.
• Kanomljica – A smaller tributary of the Idrijca, flowing through a secluded valley. It supports Marble Trout and hybrids in a wild setting, with narrow, technical water that rewards precise casting.

Licenses for RD Idrija are sold per fishing region: Trophy, A, B, or Catch & Release.
