Ribiška Družina Jesenice (RD Jesenice).
Founded in 1953, Ribiška Družina Jesenice manages waters in the upper Sava Dolinka basin in northwestern Slovenia, within the Danube drainage. The club operates in a highly alpine environment, with rivers flowing from the Karawanks and Julian Alps. With around 100 members, RD Jesenice focuses on maintaining healthy populations of native salmonids, while also managing reservoirs and lake systems created by hydropower development. The combination of wild river stretches and stillwaters makes the district diverse and technically interesting for anglers.

Rivers managed by RD Jesenice.
RD Jesenice manages a combination of river and stillwater fisheries in the upper Sava Dolinka system.
- Sava Dolinka – The main river of the district, flowing from the area near Kranjska Gora through Jesenice toward Radovljica. It is a classic alpine river with clear water, gravel beds, and varied flow. The river holds Brown Trout and Grayling, along with stocked Rainbow Trout in some sections. Fishing ranges from relatively accessible stretches to more technical water requiring careful approach and presentation.
- Radovna – A clear alpine river flowing through a protected valley between Bled and Mojstrana. It supports populations of Brown Trout and some Rainbow Trout. The combination of crystal-clear water, stable flow, and relatively easy access makes it a popular but still technical fishery.
- Triglavska Bistrica – A small, cold alpine stream draining the glacial Vrata Valley below Triglav. It holds wild Brown Trout and is characterized by fast flows, rocky structure, and pristine surroundings. Fishing is straightforward in terms of access but requires careful approach due to clear water and limited holding areas.
- Lake Jasna – A well-known alpine lake near Kranjska Gora. While partly oriented toward tourism, it also supports trout and offers a unique fishing setting compared to the river sections.
- Javornik / Javorniški Rovt Reservoir – Another managed stillwater, offering stocked trout fishing in a controlled environment. These waters are often more accessible and suitable for less technical fishing.
- Završnica Reservoir – A smaller alpine reservoir surrounded by forested slopes. It supports trout populations and provides accessible stillwater fishing in a scenic setting.
Licenses.
Fishing permits for RD Jesenice waters are available via the RibiskeKarte platform and local vendors.
Permits are typically issued per water or section (river or reservoir) and specify the applicable rules, methods, and season.
