Ribiška Družina Ptuj (RD Ptuj).

Founded officially in 1954, but with origins dating back to 1950, Ribiška Družina Ptuj is one of the oldest fishing clubs in the Drava River basin. In August 2025, the club will celebrate 75 years of organized angling in Ptuj.
Today, RD Ptuj has several hundred members and manages the Drava River and surrounding lakes and reservoirs in northeastern Slovenia.
Its waters are best known for coarse fish species such as Pike, Zander, Perch, and a variety of Cyprinids, although the Drava also holds a small population of Huchen in certain stretches.

Regulations.

• Fishing methods vary by water (spin, coarse, or fly fishing).
• Barbless hooks are recommended.
• Huchen fishing has no separate season or regulations in the waters of RD Ptuj. 

Fishing season.

• General season: 1 May – 31 December.

Rivers managed by RD Ptuj.

RD Ptuj manages sections of the Drava River and several adjacent reservoirs and lakes. These are large, slow-flowing waters offering a range of angling opportunities, from predator fishing to relaxed coarse-fishing days.

• Ptujsko jezero – Extensive still waters rich in Pike, Zander, Perch, Carp, and other coarse fish species. The lakes are well maintained and accessible, providing diverse and productive fishing throughout the year. And if you search you may find some Huchen in the lake.

A single license covers all waters managed by RD Tolmin. Licenses can be purchased online or through authorized partners.
