Ribiška Družina Soča (RD Soča).
Founded in 1952, Ribiška Družina Soča manages the lower Soča River from the border of Italy upstream to the beginning of the RD Tolmin district, as well as the Idrija (Judrio) River along the Slovenian–Italian border.
The club’s waters include a mix of salmonid and transitional zones, where the clear alpine Soča begins to take on a lower, broader character as it flows toward Gorizia.
Regulations.
- Fly fishing and spin fishing permitted, depending on the section.
- Barbless hooks only.
- One artificial fly or lure may be used.
- Catch & Release zones designated on selected stretches.
Fishing season.
- General season: 1 April – 30 September.
- part of the soča is open longer.
Rivers managed by RD Soča.
- Soča River (lower Slovenian section) – Managed from the Italian border near Solkan upstream to the start of the RD Tolmin district. This stretch of the Soča features broad pools, clear currents, and mixed trout populations, offering both Marble Trout, hybrid and Brown Trout, as well as good population of Grayling.
- Idrija River (Fiume Judrio) – A border river between Slovenia and Italy, known for its natural character and resident populations of Brown Trout and Marble Trout. The Idrija joins the Torre in Italy and marks an important ecological connection between the Soča and Adriatic basins.
