Ribiška Družina Bistrica Domžale (RD Bistrica Domžale).
Founded in 1954, Ribiška Družina Bistrica Domžale manages waters northeast of Ljubljana within the upper Sava River system of the Danube basin. The club oversees a mixture of lowland and foothill rivers, streams, and stillwaters, with a particular focus on the Kamniška Bistrica catchment. The district combines urban-accessible fishing with smaller tributaries and classic Slovenian grayling and trout waters. In addition to fisheries management, the club is active in conservation, habitat maintenance, and fish stocking within the region.

Waters Managed by RD Bistrica Domžale.
RD Bistrica Domžale manages a diverse network of rivers, tributaries, and smaller streams within the upper Sava basin. The district combines larger alpine-influenced rivers with narrow overgrown streams and urban watercourses.
- Kamniška Bistrica – The Kamniška Bistrica is the club’s primary salmonid river, flowing from the Kamnik–Savinja Alps toward the Sava system. The river combines alpine headwaters, fast-flowing runs, and broader lower sections. It supports Brown Trout and Grayling, together with stocked Rainbow Trout in some areas. The lower river is also known for Huchen, making it one of the more notable predator waters within the district.
- Nevljica – A smaller tributary offering classic light fly-fishing water, particularly suited to shorter rods and technical presentations. Larger trout often hold beneath rocky overhangs and within the gorge sections.
The most interesting fishing water lies between Vrhpolje near Kamnik and the confluence with the Kamniška Bistrica. - Drtijščica – A small and predominantly overgrown brook, best suited to experienced anglers comfortable with tight casting conditions and small-stream fishing techniques.
- Pšata – The Pšata is a narrower watercourse flowing partly through urbanized areas and partly through more natural overgrown sections. It is primarily suited to spinning with smaller lures, though skilled anglers can also fly fish effectively with shorter rods.
- Homska Mlinščica – A small urban stream within the district, contributing to the diversity of RD Bistrica Domžale’s managed waters.
- Radomlja – A regulated river flowing through a more natural landscape, suitable for spinning with smaller metal lures and for fly fishing. Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout are commonly found behind water thresholds, current breaks, and other structures.
- Rača – A short connecting section between the Kamniška Bistrica and the Radomlja. While primarily known as a mixed and cyprinid water, Brown Trout are also present.
- Dolska Mlinščica – A smaller urban stream managed by the club, offering localized fishing opportunities within the broader district network.
