European Native Trout Challenge
Cast a line, make a change

Hosted Trips.

The European Native Trout Challenge occasionally organizes small hosted fly fishing trips focused on native fish species, local fisheries, and conservation. Unlike traditional commercial fishing holidays, these trips are designed to bring anglers closer to Europe's unique native fish populations, the rivers they inhabit, and the people working to protect them. Each trip focuses on a specific region, species, or conservation story and combines guided fishing, independent exploration, local knowledge, and a strong conservation focus.

Our Philosophy.

Hosted trips are organized as small-group experiences where learning, conservation, and cultural exchange are valued as highly as fishing success. The goal is not to maximize catch numbers, but to:

  • Explore unique native fish systems
  • Learn from local guides and fisheries managers
  • Support local communities and fisheries
  • Promote conservation awareness
  • Connect anglers with Europe's native fish diversity

Group sizes are intentionally kept small to maintain a personal atmosphere and minimize impact on the waters being visited.

Non-Profit Approach.

Hosted trips are organized on a non-profit basis. Trip prices are calculated to cover real costs, including accommodation, permits, guiding, transport, food, and a small contingency margin for unforeseen circumstances.
Any funds remaining after a trip has concluded and all expenses have been covered are directed towards conservation-related projects supported by the European Native Trout Challenge. By participating, anglers not only experience exceptional fisheries but also contribute to the long-term protection of native fish and their habitats.
