Ribiška Družina Črnomelj (RD Črnomelj).
Founded in 1913, Ribiška Družina Črnomelj is one of the older fishing clubs in Slovenia and manages waters in the Bela Krajina region of southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. The club traces its origins to the former Vinica fishing cooperative and later evolved into the modern RD Črnomelj following the post-war reorganization of fisheries management in 1948. RD Črnomelj manages waters within the Črnomelj and Vinica fishing districts, overseeing approximately 350 hectares of rivers, streams, and stillwaters. The district is centered around the Kolpa, Lahinja, and Dobličica rivers, combining classic lowland and karst river environments with mixed fisheries and localized salmonid waters.

Waters Managed by RD Črnomelj.
RD Črnomelj manages a mixture of lowland rivers, karst springs, and mixed fisheries within the Kolpa basin.
- Kolpa – The Kolpa forms the border between Slovenia and Croatia and is the defining river of the RD Črnomelj district. Flowing through the Bela Krajina region in a scenic karst landscape, the river combines clear water, deep pools, and slower lowland sections. Although much of the Kolpa is known for mixed and cyprinid fishing, the upper and cooler sections also support Brown Trout, Grayling and even Huchen, making it one of the few salmonid waters within the district. The river offers a very different fishing environment compared to Slovenia’s alpine trout rivers, with larger lowland flows and a strong karst influence.
