Ribiška Družina Kranj (RD Kranj).

Ribiška Družina Kranj manages a diverse group of waters around Kranj within the upper Sava basin. Its salmonid fisheries range from the large Sava River to the alpine Kokra and the much smaller Rupovščica, providing very different fishing environments within a relatively compact area. The club's waters support all three of the main native salmonids of the Slovenian Danube basin: Brown Trout, European Grayling, and Huchen. The Sava is particularly important for Grayling and Huchen, while the Kokra and Rupovščica provide smaller-scale trout and grayling fishing.

RD Kranj manages several contrasting salmonid waters within the upper Sava basin, from a major river supporting Huchen to smaller alpine and foothill streams.

• Sava – The Sava is the largest and most diverse salmonid water managed by RD Kranj. Around Kranj, the river offers broad flowing sections, riffles, deeper pools and a dramatic canyon before transitioning into the slower waters associated with the Mavčiče reservoir. The flowing sections provide excellent habitat for Brown Trout and European Grayling, with the river particularly known for its large Grayling. Huchen are also present and dedicated winter permits are available.
• Kokra – The Kokra is a true alpine river descending from the mountains around Jezersko toward Kranj. Its upper reaches have a strongly torrential character, while farther downstream the river becomes broader and develops more varied trout and grayling habitat. The river supports Brown Trout and European Grayling, with Grayling occurring primarily in the lower and middle sections. Its combination of mountain scenery, clear water and varied structure makes the Kokra one of the club's main fly-fishing rivers.
  
• Rupovščica – The Rupovščica is a much smaller watercourse originating below the western part of the Storžič mountain range. Its character varies considerably, including slower sections, deep pools and a particularly difficult-to-access canyon. The stream supports Brown Trout and European Grayling in its lower reaches. Fishing is restricted to fly fishing, making it a more intimate and technical alternative to the Sava and Kokra.
  

Licenses.

Fishing permits for RD Kranj waters can be purchased through Ribiške Karte. Separate permits are available for the Sava, Kokra and Rupovščica, with different fishing methods and regulations depending on the selected water.
A separate Huchen permit is available for the relevant Sava sections during the winter season.

RD Kranj manages one of the more varied collections of native salmonid waters in the upper Sava basin. The large Sava provides fishing for Brown Trout, European Grayling and Huchen, while the alpine Kokra and smaller Rupovščica offer increasingly intimate trout and grayling fishing. Together, these rivers provide a good representation of the different salmonid habitats found around Kranj, ranging from a major Danube-basin river to small foothill streams.
